Installing custom ROM on your Android device is a great way to get access to the latest Android firmware. The new Android Marshmallow may not be compatible with many older Android devices. Custom Rom Prior Update
Before trying installing this custom you need to download the ROM zip file. Extract the zip file using Winzip or WinRAR. You also need to back up the stock ROM so you can revert back if you want to. To allow the computer to detect your device, you need to download and install drivers to your computer. Make sure you have SP Flash Tool installed on your computer. Some ROM zip file contains all the firmware, tool and driver you need for updating so you may not need to find them elsewhere. However, if it does not come with tools and drivers, there are a lot of sources in the internet you can find. Do not forget to backup all important data on your device so you can restore them back if problem occurs during flashing your smartphone. Custom Rom Update Process
Once you have USB drivers and SP Flash tool installed on your computer, you are ready to go. Run the SP Flash Tool and then choose Scatter-loading option to load the scatter file that came with the Lenovo A606 Custom Rom file. Browse for the Scatter File in the folder and load it. The Flash tool will start loading the file and it takes a few minute. Choose Download option to download ROM. Since you have downloaded the ROM, choose Firmware Upgrade to update software.
Now switch off the device completely by taking out its battery and then put it back. Choose Firmware Upgrade option and then connect your device to your computer using the USB cable. You will Purple, Red, and Yellow progress bar as the process start. When the entire process is complete, you will see a green circle. Now you can disconnect your phone from the USB cable and reboot it. If the ROM does not come with Google apps, you may need to install GAPPS file that can be installed using the steps with the scatter file. Once all is done, you can enjoy the Lenovo A606 Custom Rom on your device.
